I can't imagine filling up a long-ass card application form and get interviewed via phone call again, only to find out that it's disapproved. That's until I found out an easier way of scoring a credit card (sort of) - through GCredit. 

GCash, the leading mobile wallet in the Philippines, allows its Fully Verified users to have a personal revolving credit line through GCredit. One can get a set limit of money of up to P30,000 that can be availed whenever you want. Users can use GCredit to shop at GCash's QR partner merchants or bill payments via the app. (so you don't need to worry about lines getting cut!)

There are three levels of verifications at GCash (Basic, Semi Verified, and Fully Verified), and only Fully Verified users can enjoy this perk. Other benefits of being Fully Verified at GCash includes card transactions, accessible investment option via Invest Money, Online Cash-in, and International Remittance.

It may sound hard to get the Fully Verified status, but it actually takes five minutes only! After registering at GCash, simply visit your Profile menu and click the "Verify Now" button to upgrade your account. Then, you can follow the steps below to complete the process:

1. Take a photo of your ID through the app. (I used my UMID for this!)
2. Take a selfie.
3. Fill in the required security information.

Don't have the time to apply for the Fully Verified status? You may opt to get the Semi Verified verification level to gain access to some GCash services for one year. If you're torn which verification level you should go for, here's a chart from the GCash app to help you decide:
