ICYMI: What you missed at Starbucks recently

by - Tuesday, July 10, 2018

While I've been busy juggling work and blog these past few weeks, one thing's for sure: You'll spot me in a Starbucks cafe working on my pending articles. The dedicated customer service in this cafe is the main reason why I keep coming back to them. Also, the new concoctions and menu they come up with every season makes me even more excited for my Sbux weekly visits since I'll be trying on new food and drinks from them.

DRINKS

Cold Foam Iced Espresso

I have to admit that there are times I get tired of my usual trusty grande Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew. So when I saw the latest addition to the cold espresso beverage menu at Starbucks, I knew I had to grab myself a cup that morning.

I was a little shocked to see a different lid for my cup of joe. Turns out that this lid is made especially to enjoy this beverage. As for the taste, it was a thrill drinking this icy beverage because you get both the feel of the cold foam and the chill espresso at the same time.

I have to be quite frank that there are times I feel cheated because the foamy milk makes it seem like I'm drinking less coffee than usual for its size. lol

Milk Tea Panna Cotta Cream Frappe

On days where I feel like taking a break from my work coffee, I'm down to trying novelty drinks and explore new mixes! The launch of the milk tea panna cotta cream frappuccino, together with the pistachio bon bon cream frappuccino, made me giddy because I wanna debunk the mystery on how Sbux will transform these flavors into a frappe blend. I know you also got curious, right?

To be honest with you, I might have to side on the pistachio bon bon cream frappuccino instead of the milk tea panna cotta cream frappuccino because this drink doesn't embody the milk tea flavor that I'm looking for. It may have been because I was eating a sweet cake on the side which is why the flavor of the frappe has affected my sense of taste. However, I would suggest to those who aren't fans of sweets to give this drink a try.

Pistachio Bon Bon Cream Frappe

This frappe is clearly a bias because it reminds me of its cake counterpart (which is my fave): the Pistachio Dome cake. Similar to the cake, this frappuccino beverage also features a nutty and chocolate treat on top of the pistachio flavor. Sounds like a dream come true to me! 😍

If these two cream frappuccinos did not pique your interest, you may try the new mocha chocolate chip panna cotta and the pink strawberry panna cotta cream frappuccino, available for a limited time only in Starbucks stores near you. :)

FOOD

Warm Chocolate Cake

Let me be the first to tell you that this cake is a guilty pleasure whenever you feel like skipping your diet. Even if the whipped cream can make this dessert ugly in a few minutes, you will not regret the brownie, chocolatey taste of the cake topped with a whipped cream and the syrup of your choice (strawberry, chocolate, or caramel). 😽

I've personally enjoyed devouring the warm chocolate cake with my vanilla sweet cream cold brew because this combination balances the sweetness and bitterness of each other.

Periwinkle Yam Doughnut

If it's yam we're talking about, I'm always down to give it a go! This doughnut features a light and fluffy base with white chocolate and purple yam glaze on top. I would personally pick this when I feel like getting a light brekky on a hump day.

MERCHANDISE

Island Series Mug & Starbucks Card

In relevance to the 120th Philippine Independence day, Starbucks commemorated this celebration by launching the Island series collection that comprises of three mugs and three Starbucks cards representing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

I might just reconsider collecting Starbucks mugs because of how beautiful the Luzon mug is and its other island counterparts. My only dilemma is that the Visayas and Mindanao can only be bought in their respective key cities. (Looks like someone's traveling soon! haha)

Each Island Series Mug is available for Php 995 and comes in a collector box

The same rule applies to the Island Series Starbucks card. Come to think of it, it's like hitting two birds with one stone since we can get to visit another island of our country and score these limited edition cards at the same time. 🙌

The Island Series Starbucks card can be activated for a minimum of P500 each

Don't let the rain get to you! Dropped by any Starbucks store near you and enjoy the pouring rain while enjoying your me time in the cafe with these goodies. To know more, you may visit starbucks.ph. 💕
