A Mix of Travel and Staycation | Bayfront Hotel Cebu Review

After braving Cebu canyoneering with the Cyan Adventures team, our legs were wrecked to death that we needed a strategic place to stay given our current state. I can say that we literally walked like old people because we can't lift our legs that much. (that's actually how bad it is!)

It was a wise decision for us to stay at Bayfront Hotel Cebu for our remaining days in Cebu. 💕

Bayfront Hotel Cebu is a mid-rise hotel situated in the business district of Cebu city. The first thing I liked about this hotel is its location within the busy city. The SM City Cebu is just across the hotel and from there, a terminal to different key locations in the city can be found. There are also buses in the terminal leading to Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

We were happily welcomed by the front desk officers even if we had a late check-in straight from Moalboal, Cebu. (We only picked up our stuff from The Center Suites then we headed to Bayfront Hotel Cebu right after.)

We were treated with a superior room that has a clear view of the SM City Cebu. The moment I stepped into the room, I immediately appreciated the beige scheme of the walls, curtains, down to the bed details. It was damn refreshing to the eyes.

The office desk and chair was also a nice touch to the room. I always lug my laptop with me around that's why a place to work on my blog is a big plus when staying in a hotel.

We also had an ample storage area to keep our bags because of the roomy closet that comes with an in-room safe. Add to that the mini-bar with coffee and tea! It's as if Bayfront Hotel is telling us to have a good staycation in the hotel instead of going out. 😅

In contrary to the light, refreshing color scheme of the bedroom, the shower and restroom instead have a darker accent. PS. Can I just say that I love long, hot baths! It's a no brainer that Bayfront Hotel Cebu also has a hot and cold shower. 💖

The fitness room at Bayfront Hotel Cebu isn't the same as the other ordinary hotels out there. There's an integration of the guests' key card and the room itself. It is not manned by anyone. Instead, the key card can be used to pull open the door of the gym. Guests can just open the lights and air conditioner inside and enjoy using the hotel's fitness facilities stat. What an amazing way to spend less on labor and electricity at the same time! :)

Cafe Breeze is Bayfront Hotel Cebu's all-day dining restaurant that serves not just Filipino dishes, but international dishes as well. Located in the hotel's lobby, guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfast at the vast cafe with their companions.

I can't say that the breakfast food was exemplary but it was indeed satisfying. I enjoyed the Tsokolate the most that were made fresh in the cafe. It made my breakfast set special.

How I wish I've also tried their international dishes offered for lunch just so I can make a comparison. (I was busy that time hunting for the best lechon in town! Haha)

VERDICT

Guests will get best of both worlds at Bayfront Hotel Cebu because aside from its prime location, an entirely comfortable bed awaits everyone. While the look and feel of the hotel looked like it stand the test of time, the accommodating staff made sure that we are having our best time in the hotel. We were actually flagged during our last night in the hotel because we're about to bring up the dried fish we bought at Tabo-an market. We were clueless but the staff didn't make it seem awkward when he approached us. Instead, he happily obliged to keep it in the lobby and handed us a redemption coupon that we can present once we check out of the hotel. They also offered Ibuprofen and other meds in the lobby that's why I didn't need to go further just to get a medicine for Jonas' aching legs. haha

The 7-11 convenience store just outside the lobby was also a saving grace for us because we haven't eaten our dinner yet when we arrived at Bayfront Hotel Cebu. It was around 9 pm and most restaurants nearby were already closed. We were also tired from the day that's why we tried having our food delivered. Still to no avail! Finally, we resorted to 7-11's ready-to-eat meal options and not regretted it. It was actually not bad! (We got the grilled chicken one and some cup noodles)

Lastly, the hotel's location made it easy for us to go around the city's famous tourist spots. It was easy going from one place to another since the spots are near to each other. Here's a disclaimer though, the traffic around the area can be quite a challenge that's why I advise you to explore the vicinity during off hours as much as possible.

The Bayfront Hotel Cebu is located in Kaohsiung St, Cebu City, 6000. Do you wish to book your rooms here for the summer? You can book in advance here. 😉
