6 Reasons Why Aquaria Water Park is the Ultimate Getaway Destination This Summer

by - Thursday, April 28, 2016

We all know that Batangas is one of the go-to places of us who wants to enjoy basking under the sun and experience the beach. In my entirety, I've only been to Batangas just once or twice. JUST ONCE OR TWICE. Highlighting this one because I've lived in the south since forever yet I wasn't able to take lots of moments to appreciate this wonderful city known for its beaches from side to side.

Luckily this time, I got the chance to visit Batangas. This time, it's at Aquaria Water Park in Calatagan, Batangas. Calatagan sounded a bit far to me but in reality, it's like an hour away from Tagaytay.

This place had been meaningful to me because of so many firsts and I can't wait to share with you below why Aquaria Water Park is the ultimate getaway destination this summer!

It has both swimming pools and a beach

This is big of a deal already because it gives you options if you prefer either of the two. In my case, I loved spending time in different kinds of waters because it's just plainly soothing to the skin. Hello Mr. Sun!!

Take note that the beach and the swimming pool are not that far away from each other! I know the parents out there will love this because they can easily accompany their kids to the sands and the pool without walking too far.

Water Sports!

Pick your weapons, I mean your ride! hee hee What's beach without these eye catching rides that you can enjoy on the salty sea, right? Aquaria Water Park got a kayak, banana boat, buzz bomb, pedal boat and jet ski to ride on.

My best choice of ride will definitely be the jet ski though. It's my first time riding this in the sea and went for a whopping 45 kph in the water. The feeling is so infinite that I didn't care I'm actually getting toasted in the sun already.

3-Storey Water Slide

Nobody's young or old for pool slides! Last 8 seconds long in the slide before you dip in the pool that's as high as 6 feet! No worries, people are only allowed to use the slide with single or dual floaters only. Now that's more fun. :)

Dining at 'The Sands Restaurant'

Devour in your favorite local specialties and seafood dishes at The Sands Restaurant. I love how they have everything in store, whether you're into eating halo-halo for merienda or pork inihaw after a tiring swim by the pool.

Try their all time bestsellers Bilao Fiesta (Php 695 / good for 5 pax) or Seafood Fiesta (Php 795 / good for 5 pax) that include a various mix of Filipino favorites such as daing na bangus or fried tilapia, liempo or lechon kawali, squid or shrimp. Both platters include 5 cups of rice, served with salted egg, eggplant, tomato, onion and bagoong alamang.

Cabanas to Enjoy the Tropical Vibe

I will definitely pay for the seat in front of the beach! This cabana can accommodate 6 to 8 people and costs Php 1200 the whole day. This already comes with with extra tables and chairs to make room for your other stuff.

If on a tighter budget, spend the afternoon with just tables and chairs alone. It ain't that bad as well I guess since you still have good access to the shower area and the concessionaires in the area as well. :) Outlets are also available by the trees in case you need any power.

Spacious Bath House

It's a turn off when after a great swim, you have to deal with messy bath houses. Sometimes, I can't help but feel iffy of other bath houses because sachets of shampoos or soaps were left unattended anywhere.

Two awesome things why Aquaria's Bath house is the best I've seen to date: the number of shower rooms and the big space per room.

Moms will definitely be at ease when they give their kids a rinse after dipping in the pool. It got a small bench inside where you can put your stuff and a hook to hang your towel as well.

Another good thing about this as well is that there is a locker room beside the bath house where you can store your valuable items. A rent for the whole day costs Php 150.

Just a quick FAQ about Aquaria Water Park, they are open for day tours as of writing. The rates during peak season costs Php 800 (weekends) / Php 600 (weekdays) for adults. Kids with the height 4 ft & below get 50% off the amount. This includes facilities use such as the swimming pools and the beach. Bringing of food inside is allowed with a corkage fee of Php 100 per person.
