Sulfate-Free Shampoo for Brazilian Blowout Treated Hair? Try Palmer's!

Some people fail to realize that after getting a hair treatment, there goes the maintenance after to keep your hair at its best weeks after your date to the salon (unless you can afford to have your hair fixed in the salon most of the time :p).

After having my hair colored and treated with brazilian blowout just recently at Beauty Lane, I was advised by Beauty Lane's stylist, Abby, to use a sulfate-free shampoo to complement the treatment brought by the Brazilian Blowout.

Just to give you a little hair update, my hair now is chest-level, flowy hair even though it went through series of treatments in the past months (such as hair color, perming, bleaching). My objective now is to find the ideal shampoo to complement my hair needs since the shampoo from the Brazilian Blowout line is too expensive for me to shell out some moolah.

Abby also warned me though that this kind of shampoo may be a little pricey for the pocket since we don't have locally produced sulfate-free shampoo. So what I did wasI hunted down the cheapest possible sulfate-free shampoo that is good enough to last up for twelve weeks.

I went to Rustans, which is the reliable department store at Alabang Town Center, and discovered Palmer's. For around Php 400, I get a 400 mL Sulfate-free shampoo and a free 30 mL Palmer's conditioner (which I've already consumed as of writing). Based on what I've found out upon research, this brand is a drugstore product from United States and is sold there for roughly six dollars.

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo moisturizes and smooths frizzy hair, replenishes moisture and nutrients and removes product buildup. The balanced blend of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Hair Keratin Amino Acids and Vitamin E cleanses thoroughly and leaves hair softer, with a smoother texture, easier to style and healthier and stronger.

As I open the cap of the olive oil-based shampoo, I was enamoured by its organic smell. I lathered it and shampooed my hair but this amount of shampoo didn't suffice making me squeeze another batch of shampoo to put on my hair.

After air drying my hair, I am shock to see my hair that's not frizzy and I felt like an additional volume was added to my hair. Oh the wonders of olive oil! It also made my hair softer and bouncy that even though after I tie my hair for a few hours, after I detangle my hair from the pony tail, my hair just bounces and remains straight. My hair still doesn't look perfect, but hey, I love the softness it gives off right after rinsing. :p

Verdict? I think I'll most likely repurchase this shampoo after consuming my first bottle. I think I can save few money instead of buying a Php 130+ local shampoo for 180 mL. My color-treated hair remains vibrant after using this organic shampoo for a couple of days and I wouldn't want to end my relationship with it just yet.

How about you? What's your go-to shampoo?
