Worry-free wandering around Hong Kong with my phone

by - Sunday, March 18, 2018

I can't say that my last year's visit to Hong Kong was a splendid one because (1) I'm attending a conference which means I never got the chance to be in tourist mode, and (2) I experienced hiccups on my flight back to Manila.

That's why on my second trip to asia's world city,  I made it a point to make my visit as breezy as possible. I owe the chunk of my lightheartedness in the entirety of my latest travel to my latest smartphone: the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite

Unconsciously, I took the navigator role in my group during my group's full day in HK. I've only been to this country once and I was the "kaladkarin" companion back then. Which is why for this day, I heavily relied on my phone for directions and on-the-spot online research (ex. what good restaurants to eat, nearby tourist spot, and etc.)

Equipped with the 4,100 mAh battery, the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite was a good partner when it comes to deep diving the different districts of Hong Kong. Untroubled by battery loss, I can surf the internet on my mobile phone anytime, anywhere.

Most of you already know that I'm sold with my phone's OTG (On-the-go cable). As a lifestyle blogger, I usually have a lot of USB-powered devices with me and one powerbank usually doesn't do the trick. With this phone's high-capacity battery and its OTG cable, I am more relaxed knowing that I have a backup power source. Trust me, this cable saved me a lot of times during my out of town trips! 😍

Even if I already shifted from DSLR to a mirrorless camera, I still sometimes feel lazy to open my camera and capture a subject that I find Instagram-worthy. For well-lit places, I'm confident to interchange my camera from mirrorless to this smartphone.

Dual cameras have always piqued my interest because of its go-pro like output. The wide-angle look, for me, makes the image looks more in-the-moment, more personal. Plus, it makes me fit a wider view of the subject in one, single shot.

Of course, I wouldn't deny getting all out touristy when I'm in abroad. A way to unleash this is to take a selfie. I like the fact that ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite's front camera takes a sharp with its front cam. This is perfect when I don't have anyone to take my photo on a good background or a famous spot. hihi

As I slowly get the hang of traveling hassle-free, I've realized the importance of being equipped with a stuff that's versatile and gets the job done quickly. With an entry-level smartphone like ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite, I'm glad it was able to become my navigator companion, extra powerbank, and a counterpart to my main camera. 💖
Interested to see my one full day Hong Kong adventure? Stay tuned in my vlog on the coming days! (or weeks?) Haha Trying to squeeze in some time to kick off my itinerary blog posts in Japan and Hong Kong. I hope to publish more blog posts the soonest! 😅
