ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro: Unboxing + First Impressions
What's inside this elegant, pristine white ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro box? 💜
Two years ago, I've turned my back from android mainly because it didn't cater to my mobile needs. I'm not a selfie kind of person but I wanted a camera that can take and process sharp photos in a snap because my phone serves as a second camera to events and my musings in life.
Sadly, my old android phone died at me during the time that Pope Francis was about to pass by United Nations Avenue during his visit in Manila last 2015. Talk about great timing, right?
Come two years after, I am once again welcomed to the android community when the ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro was handed to me. No words can explain how excited I am to unbox it the moment I received it because LOW EQ LEVEL! haha But really, I knew I had to make a one-day old quick review of this amazing phone from ASUS stat! 😻
UNBOXING
I had no expectation of what color to get for this ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro. When I saw that it's rear cover comes in metal red, a mix of emotion suddenly poured in. Red is never a top-of-mind color for me, but this made my heart skip a beat.
Aside from the unit itself, also included in the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro box are the following: Power Adapter, Micro USB cable, Pin, Bumper Case, Warranty and Manual, and Headset.
The first surprise for this phone is that it already comes with a bumper case. Why is it a big deal? I can remember getting my brother the ASUS Zenfone Laser 2 before and he did find it hard to look for a case that'll fit his phone best. ASUS listen to their customers' sentiments! ✔
I recently encountered issues with other silicone ear buds because they tend to loosen after some time. Production-wise, it could be cheaper that's why most phone companies opt for this material. I hope the silicone ear bud of this one holds quite tightly.
I also had to exert a greater-than-usual force when plugging the 3.5 mm jack to the audio jack because (I guess??) the unit is still new.
Lightweight is an understatement when it comes to this phone. Despite its 5.5 inches screen, it only weights 145 grams. Also, it's sleek and sexy that's why it makes a perfect match to dress up or lazy Sunday fashion ensemble.
All the buttons on the side of the phone are situated at the right portion while the audio jack, microphone, micro USB port, and speakers are placed at the bottom of this ASUS phone. The back button and the recent tabs below the screen were interchanged compared to the other Android phones in the market.
I highly think that non-android and even other Android users out there will need to do a break in with this phone to get used with the repositioning of buttons.
As for my activities with my one-day-old ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, I've already listened to music (it has an FM Radio in-app, guys!) and watched my favorite YouTube vloggers (the full HD panel makes the vlogs crisper).
