First Visit in Starbucks PH Reserve

by - Thursday, January 12, 2017

How's 2017 treating you so far, friends?

I've been on a roll since the year started. Yes, blaming my laziness during the holidays. Even if that's the case, I'm ecstatic for all the good news coming my way! ( I can't wait to share them soon ;) )

It was last 2015 when I professed my coffee love for Starbucks Philippines. Because I'm a caffeine lover, this coffeehouse has been my shelter for my clique gatherings, alone time, and work meetings. Back then, I've been hearing about Starbucks Reserve already - a coffee haven that serves ultra‐premium, exotic, rare and exquisite coffees. Since it has a limited number of branches, I've never gotten the luxury of time to drop by and appreciate what this store has to offer.

Not until last January 9! Because the FIRST EVER Starbucks Reserve Core Card has finally dropped, I made it a point to finally visit a Starbucks Reserve store nearest to my office. (Located at Sapphire Bloc in front of Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas)

You can tell from the store facade how different it is from the regular Starbucks store. The Starbucks Reserve store interior gives off the extra warm feel because of the wood associated in every corner of the cafe.

For this kind of store, the baristas are in a different uniform. They are clad in a modern, denim button down with navy blue neck tie, and topped with a cream Starbucks apron. Beside the cashier, The Reserve coffee menu can be seen where various coffee types are enumerated under a price similar to the regular Starbucks handcrafted beverages. Wish I gave them a try though. (Maybe on my next visit!)

As mentioned above, the first ever Starbucks Reserve Card was launched exclusively to Reserve stores for an initial consumable load amount of ₱300 per card. Among my collection, cards with black background like this are my favorite in the roster because of its sleekness. The Reserve logo stands out with its gold foiling. Grand!

For sure, sugar lovers will approve of these mouth-watering Espresso Confections! I've been longing for a good alternative to my favorite White Chocolate Mocha drink without sacrificing the espresso. The Coffee God must've heard my plead. lol (This is the reason why I didn't try the Starbucks Reserve Coffees during my visit. hihi)

You'll find it ironic when I say that the Salted Caramel Mocha Crumble was my instant favorite instead of the latter. The well-blended coffee and sweet cocoa base is a comfort sip whenever I need an extra kick to beat the energy gap every morning. (uyyy!) :p

Seriously, I didn't mind the cookie crumbles on top because I'm one of those people who would happily indulge with extra munching on the side. On another note, I realized that you have to stir this drink well for the salted caramel flavor to taste throughout the whole drink.

The Chestnut White Chocolate Truffle was a 3/5. Still good, but Starbucks already got me at the Salted Caramel Mocha Crumble. hihi This drink wasn't much of a hit on my end because of the nutty flavor lingering after every sip. (Not a nutty fan here!) It was already similar to my regular Iced White Chocolate Mocha drink. Maybe I should give it a second try again?

Can't choose between the two original concocted drinks? Why not try them both in a SHORT size! Yes, Short. As in smaller than the Tall size for only P145 each. This drink is available in all Starbucks stores nationwide. ;)

The Starbucks Coffee Rolls are a returning favorite, yet it's the first time I lay my hands on this barquillos. Surprisingly, the espresso roast-infused wafer rolls are an instant pick-me-up whenever I need a quick bite whether I'm in the office or travelling. Giving it a two thumbs up! <3
