Matcha-ing at Figaro Coffee Company

Sunday, October 8, 2017

One thing's for sure, I will never say no to Matcha. Ever since there had been offerings of different matcha variations locally, I've been on the pursuit of tryinh most matcha-related dessert / drink around town.

On to my latest matcha adventure, I headed to Figaro Coffee Company to try out their very own take on the matcha cake.

Whenever I pass by Figaro in Alabang Town Center, their small quaint cafe on the corner of the 2nd floor is always packed. Luckily, I got the chance to finally dine around and try their bistro food and pastries for the first time! :)

ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro Review By a Non-Selfie Lover

Wednesday, October 4, 2017

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro was launched early August 2017 along with other equally good mobile phones from the Zenfone 4 line. I was lucky enough to get my hands on this phone to make a full review. The first thing that I thought after receiving this phone, "I am not even a selfie lover. How do I even do this?"

The first notable thing about the new ASUS phone is its metallic rouge red back cover. Its color pops out that you can't miss it. I can also handheld this 5.5-inch phone easily because of its thin build plus round edges.

PICOOC Smart Weighing Scale Mini Review

Sunday, September 24, 2017

Everyone's into their #balikalindogprogram lately and I can't help but stand back and assess myself. Here's the deal, I haven't watched my weight in a long time. And I also don't observe any diet to complement my health either. Eeeeck!

I didn't expect that with a smart weighing scale, I will get the nudge that I needed to finally be on track for my health.

The PICOOC Smart Weighing Scale comes in a pizza box-like package that contains the following:

As soon as I was able to unbox the items, I noticed that there is still a transparent film to protect the unit from scratches. I tried looking for the batteries in the box, but I found out that it is already installed at the back of the PICOOC smart weighing scale

This unit comes with a rubber stopper in every corner at its bottom to protect it from movement and damage.

BonChon is Changing the Fast Food Game

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Let me admit this, I've been a low-key fan of anything Korean the moment I get to explore their wonderful country. Like what I've been always telling people, I came there with no expectations and went home with lots of wonderful things to say about their amazing country. From that moment on, I've opened myself to experiencing Korean-inspired local stuff, food in particular!

Because we Filipinos are true blue chicken lovers, BonChon first changed the game by offering a Korean-Style chicken that's made with a freshly hand-glazed flavor. Everyone loved this so much that I and my boyfriend joined the bandwagon. This is actually the main reason why Jonas and I celebrated our second anniversary at Bonchon in SM Sta. Mesa. Talk about cheap thrills! ๐Ÿ˜›

Digify Your Old TV at Home: A Mega Cellular Universal Box Review

Tuesday, August 29, 2017

Earlier this year, entertainment at home went into an upgrade as my family jumped on the Smart TV bandwagon. While our old CTR TV (the one that has a hatchback) is still working, it found its new place in my parent's bedroom instead.

I don't have a huge knowledge about black boxes since I grew up having no cable connection at home. I can assure you though I know how it looks like and how it operates lol. When the Universal Box from Mega Cellular was introduced to me, I got excited with how this box can unveil a new purpose for our old TV.

Saturday, August 26, 2017

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Ramen takeover is in full effect in the heart of the metro. Despite the naturally hot climate of the Philippines, Filipinos still choose to fill out ramen stops at every available instance, proving that the love of food and the Japanese culture embedded in the Filipino culture is indisputable.

Attending RISE Conference in Different Hats

Thursday, August 10, 2017

It all started when I got hit by the RISE Conference FB ad several times and wondered what’s in it for me. Looked for some information and found out that it’s probably the biggest tech and startup conference in Asia to be held in Hong Kong. (PSA: The regular RISE conference fee is at least USD 1500)

I ignored it every single time it hits my newsfeed because I know there is no chance in this world that I’ll be attending such prestigious conference abroad (because of time and budget).

But on one busy Friday, an opportunity from the Blogapalooza family came up and an offer to attend RISE in Hong Kong was right in front of me. If you know me by heart, you know I grab opportunities in a heartbeat. This, in particular, isn’t something that I will allow to pass by. Tried my luck and guess what, I officially made it to the Philippine delegate to RISE!

Ladies Must-Have: An ASUS ZenPower Slim Review

Sunday, August 6, 2017

If a woman is to a little black dress (LBD), then so is the latest ASUS ZenPower Slim! I kind of squealed on the inside the moment this power bank was handed to me because of how gorgeous and sleek it is.

Here’s what inside the ASUS ZenPower Slim Box:
* ZenPower Slim Power Bank
* standard microUSB Cable
* Manual and Warranty Information Form

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - ASUS - ZenPower Slim Review - Philippines - Lazada - Unboxing

Believe me or not, I’ve been a fan of the ZenPower since the beginning of Power Banks. It was a no-brainer that I'll be getting a ZenPower in preparation for an upcoming out of town trip. I didn't regret getting it for Php 1000 because it saved my life many times despite the number of fumbles it received. ๐Ÿ˜Š

The ASUS ZenPower Slim boasts three product features: Slim Design, Safety and Artwork

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - ASUS - ZenPower Slim Review - Philippines - Lazada -1

Comparing to the other ASUS power banks, this comes in 8.3 mm thickness only. I immediately felt the difference the first time I charged my smartphone using this. It is lightweight and my hand felt comfortable the entire time I'm using my phone (even if the power bank is attached to it).

It also has the exclusive ASUS PowerSafe technology to protect the owner and the device. It can detect voltage and prevents excessive charge on the smartphone.

Lastly, this model features a Hair-line Surface Treatment with Transparent Light Design. This is a standout from the standard metal finish of the ZenPower and ZenPower Pro. In my opinion, this design looks more elegant compared to the latter.

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - ASUS - ZenPower Slim Review - Philippines - Lazada - Top View

The con? The ASUS ZenPower Slim is currently available in 3000 mAh only. Meaning, this power bank can fully-charge smartphones once. Yet on my end, this is understandable given its sleek design. It would be great though if through innovation, ASUS can come with a SUPER ZenPower Slim that can cater 10050 mAh battery. It’s the dream right there! ๐Ÿ˜Š

How can this disadvantage be an advantage to us, ladies? In events where we can’t bring bulky stuff (formal gatherings, for example), the ASUS ZenPower Slim comes in handy because of its optimal size and LED flashlight feature.

Ever feel awkward holding your big ass power bank while snapping photos during an event? This power bank saves you with its thin build and jet-black cable. It can definitely fit your itsy bitsy pouch or the dress in your pocket as well. Add to that is the hairline texture of the unit that gives off extra class to your whole ensemble.

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - ASUS - ZenPower Slim Review - Philippines - Lazada - Front View

This power bank also has an LED flashlight that you can use for emergency situations like finding the coin that you accidentally dropped in the Uber car or searching for that condo keys in your unorganized everyday bag.

The ASUS ZenPower Slim works like the regular power banks we have in the market. However, here are some key points to remember when using this unit for the first time:

1. Pressing the power button twice will turn on/turn off the LED flashlight.

2. Fully charge the Power Bank before using it for the first time.

It took me 2.5 hours to charge this power bank for the first time. Given its low mAh, I realized that the charging time is also faster. A huge advantage for on-the-go people like me. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

3. Use the bundled cable when charging the Power Bank or when using the product to charge your device.

The Asus ZenPower Slim is currently available at Lazada for Php 499. This a friendly price that I'm willing to pay for comfortability. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I definitely recommend Asus ZenPower Slim for short trips outside, like a quick stroll in the mall or in daily commute. Its build is a huge advantage to those who do not like carrying around heavy stuff around. Its design is also a major factor to consider when you plan to bring a power bank in your power dresses. However, if you are going for long travels, the ZenPower or ZenPower Pro is the way to go.

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - ASUS - ZenPower Slim Review - Philippines - Lazada -6

The short charging time is something to consider as well since I'm not the type who full charges a 10050 mAh on a daily basis because of the prolonged charging time. Lastly, its price is affordable given the quality and comfortability it provides. ๐Ÿ‘

Sunday, July 30, 2017

I can remember during in my college years, RCBC was the first bank I entrusted my savings with. They were accommodating to students like me back then. And opening an account to their humble bank was a no fuss. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Pink Drink at Starbucks PH!

Last summer, I stumbled upon a post about the Starbucks Pink Drink in the US. I drooled on my screen as I checked out the Strawberry Acai Refresher drink with coconut milk and strawberries on top because of how refreshing it looked. (Who would resist on the fresh slices of strawberries in a drink?) Too bad, this drink was unavailable here in the Philippines.

After summer, Starbucks Philippines is treating us with our own pink drink locally! (Woohoo!) Introducing the Aรงai Mixed Berry Yogurt Frappuccino.

The Aรงai Mixed Berry Yogurt Frappuccino® blended beverage combines Aรงai berry-infused yogurt with bursting pearls that will delight you with the distinct and refreshing notes of mixed berry, finished with light and creamy milk foam.

Photo Diary: Visit London For the First Time ✈️

2017 is officially my travel year. ๐Ÿ˜

No words can express how blessed I am to unlock firsts this year in terms of travel. This includes riding the plane for the first time, visiting South Korea with my 1DMG family, and visiting Hong Kong for a renowned tech conference in Asia.

with Ace Gapuz (CEO, Blogapalooza Inc.) and Maddie Cruz (Millenial Multihyphenate)
at Kam's Roasted Goose HK last July 2017
With all these experiences sinking in as I jot them down in this blog post, the wanderer in me feels 100% achieved. (Kumbaga quota na!!) It was at the end of each trip where I felt the real sense of fulfillment because of all the new knowledge I've obtained as I cap off each visit. It may be tiring every single time, but I'll never, ever complain getting the chance to see the world in my own eyes.

with 1DMG family at Everland, South Korea last April 2017
If asked for my future travel goals, there is still that undying desire to explore Europe in my late 20s. (As seen here) And since Europe is one hella big continent to explore, London is the top city in my list of places to visit. Bumping with the queen herself would make an awesome experience, right? lol just kidding. London tops my list because of my Twinnings obsession, their way of life, and their picturesque city in general. :)

Just take a look at the photos below and be mesmerized by the beauty of this cosmopolitan city. ❣️

Now, Filipinos like me wishing to visit Europe will now have a chance to make their travel dreams come true with the new “Save Up and Fly” promo from RCBC Savings Bank (RSB).

Zark's Burgers: More Than Just a Homegrown Brand

Famous for the long lines during the sale of their Jawbreaker burgers and burger competitions, Zark's has been a classic choice of a burger joint that's bang for the buck. Dining here with the boyfriend during our first "official" date and lining up for the Jawbreakers ourselves in their BF branch a few years ago, Zark's was already imprinted in our minds when we choose for options on where to spend our all-out cheat day.

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - Zarks - Burger - face off

The Universe is Telling Me Something: I Should Go Back to the Fitness Track

Wednesday, July 5, 2017

I used to be that kind of student who's highly involved in school sports. Being the pabibo that I am, I joined the badminton, chess, and table tennis varsity team back in my late elementary and high school years. (Talk about a student who's desperate to be excused in class lol ๐Ÿ˜œ)

Moving to the #youngadulting stage, I found myself struggling to insert exercise (even jogging!!) in my daily routine. My work routine often takes it toll on me (because of #1 commute!) that I reach home tired and sleepy already. While on the weekends, I prioritize my blog backlogs from events that I attended over the week that passed. SO PAANO, DIBA?

A few weeks ago, I got invited to two consecutive events that revolve around the fitness topic. As the title suggests, I think that the universe wants to imply something. Perhaps go back to getting engaged in fitness after a long time?

Chasing Pahiyas Festival | Lucban, Quezon

Saturday, June 17, 2017

Ever since my Philippine Hot Air Balloon experience last February, it became a dream of mine to explore Philippine's festivals nationwide and tick off all of them in my #ChasingFestivals list. ❤️

About a month ago, I was fortunate to squeeze in a day to explore Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon Province. I've never visited the province before which explains the giddy me while touring around this place.

Here are some of my expectations before embarking on a day trip with some blogger friends:

* check out colorful decorated houses around town
* taste the famous Pancit Habhab for the first time
* festive vibe in the streets

Given these expectations, here's what went down on my day trip in Lucban, Quezon for Pahiyas Festival! :)

The Latest Starbucks Stuff to Brighten Your Gloomy Days

The change of season can be quite irking to some because of the change of wardrobe, the extra umbrella baggage, and adjustments to the daily routine. Aside from this, the rainy season means that vacation period is over. HUHU

I wasn't able to hit the beach nor swimming resorts this summer. Bummer! The only good thing about not pursuing any water-related getaways these past months is that my body is not beach-ready. Haha

I guess one of the remaining constants in life is that Starbucks never forget to put a smile on our face even if the rain is already coming. How can we not be giddy despite the gloomy weather when there are new Frappuccino flavors to try, new Starbucks Card to collect, new pastries to taste and new Coffee innovations to explore! ❤️

Talk About the Game Changer in Philippine E-Commerce

Monday, June 5, 2017

Branded as the country’s first ‘real’ online shopping mall, Adobomall sets itself apart as the platform that partners directly with your favorite brands -- when you shop at (app coming really soon!), you’re only dealing with the licensed distributors and merchants in the country.

What does that mean for us? For one, you never have to question the authenticity of the deals you see - finally, no more “is this too good to be true” questions!

Best Sellers Take Over Avon City

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

I used to not appreciate my mom's fondness for direct selling products because of the "brand-conscious" in me. I remember back then, we have these personal care products at home for me. She buys these products from our neighbor mainly because of its affordability. In fairness, after giving it a try, I found out that these products also deliver! My expectations were met. That's the day I stopped being a judgmental brand-conscious person and became more thorough in testing products instead.

Recently, I was invited to Avon Philippines first ever experiential product expo that features their best selling products. Who am I to say no! This invite is as if a gateway to all the products that help make who AVON is today. ;)

As we entered the grounds of Avon City, I immediately noticed the different thematic booths that match the Avon products it features.

Can you believe that women should get out their measurement every 3 - 6 months? Avon stressed that the lady's bust size changes from time to time because of factors like hormonal changes, pregnancy and etc.

10 Must Experience in Korea for First-Time Visitors

Tuesday, May 30, 2017

Traveling to South Korea has been a huge surprise for me because (1) it wasn't on my list of countries to visit and (2) I really want to see Japan before anything else. While I prayed to God to give me the best first-time experience abroad, I didn't expect He'd unearth so many great things to experience right before me in Seoul.

Just to give you a hint of how my trip to Korea went, it was all touristy and gastronomic! I've never gone back to the hotel feeling "bitin" because every minute spent on the streets of Seoul was hella worth it.

Indulge me as I narrow down SOME things
that first-time visitors in Korea have to experience:

Get Schooled on Sun Protection!

Monday, May 29, 2017

This year's summer is one for the books because I get to travel to three different cities despite my daily work. The past two months jumping around Baguio, South Korea, and Quezon province was an adventure I will not forget because the food trip, bonding, sightseeing, and immersion were a huge breather from my busy toxic life.

For a person who likes to wander around, bathing under the sun is usually an issue. But not for me because I make sure to ALWAYS slather my skin with sun protection.

A derma once said to me, "You can forget your moisturizers, but not your sunscreen!" With this, I also make it a point to remind my friends to invest in sunblocks as well.

In case you live under a rock, sunscreen shields the skin from harmful sun rays and prevents the skin from premature aging. May this blog post serve as a little nudge for those of you who don't use sunscreen daily yet. ;)

#TLWandersKorea: What I Ate For 5 Days

Sunday, May 21, 2017

I wasn't a fan of Korean cuisine until I got a chance to try Ye dang in Pasig (Korean BBQ restaurant) a few weeks before I left for Seoul. Since then, I counted the days until my flight to Korea just so I can finally try their authentic food selections.

Seoul introduced me to their wide array of food options, from their local street food, their adaptation of global fast food chains, their Korean BBQs (of course!), to their mouthwatering cafe desserts.

Check out the simple documentation of my 5 day food crawl at South Korea:

Hotel Review: The Linden Suites, Ortigas

Saturday, May 20, 2017

The scorching hot nowadays makes me long for another staycation in the metro. The heat makes me so unproductive at home because a single move already makes me feel icky. Do you feel the same? ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

This reminds me of another great staycation I've had a couple of weeks ago at The Linden Suites in Ortigas. Located in a prime location (it's a few blocks away from SM Megamall!), the hotel provides a quick escape within the busy streets of Metro Manila.

FINAL Linden Suites - Earth Hour - 2950

I wasn't exactly sure where the hotel is located so I let the Uber driver used Waze to navigate us. Little did I know that we were directed to the back entrance of the hotel, which was also nice because the tall buildings beside Linden Suites provided nice shades in the street.

FINAL COLLAGE Linden Suites - Earth Hour - 2950

The wooden walls and lavish tiles spoke to its year of existence: timeless and grand. The lobby is not as big as the ones in other hotels which is why people easily fill the entire ground floor.

#TLWandersKorea: Flytpack in South Korea Review

Thursday, May 18, 2017

My South Korea trip ended two weeks ago, yet, I long to be back in that beautiful country in the soonest possible time. It became my instant happy place because of all the good memories I've had even in a short span of time. ❤️

I know it took me a long time to write about my first trip abroad. I wish I had written sooner, but I had so many things to settle as soon as I got back in PH! The good thing though is that now, I'm back in writing and I have so many stories to share with you in the coming weeks. Lots of food and itineraries involved. Hooray! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

I'm kicking off the #TLWandersKorea series by writing about my Flytpack WiFi router experience first. Many of you have probably heard Flytpack already because of the number of lifestyle and travel bloggers who shared their great experience with this WiFi router provider during their trips abroad, whether in Asian, Western, or European countries. This is the main reason why I also gave their travel wifi router a try during my 5-day trip to SoKor.

FINAL Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - #TLWandersKorea - Intro Paragraph -1

I cannot help but overthink a few days prior the trip on how I'll survive if ever I get lost in the streets of Seoul (!!!), so on and so forth. That's why as a digitally-obsessed person, the desire to be connected online as soon as I step in Korea is my top priority.

8 Items That Will Make You Wanna Binge Shop at Tickles Stat!

Sunday, May 14, 2017

I'm guilty of flaking out always most of the time whenever there are happenings in the north. Few reasons that can make me say, "Tara, punta tayo ng Quezon City!" are when, (1) there are important events that cannot be missed, (2) go to the meeting place for a travel out of town and (3) a shopping spree at the newly-opened Tickles, SM North EDSA! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Back story. Tickles has always been in Alabang Town Center since we moved in the south. The different trinkets in display entice me to stroll around their latest items everytime I pass by to their store.
Just last December, I remember purchasing the Drunken Tower game from them. It's like Jenga but instead of small pieces of wood, the players need to balance the stack of plastic chairs in order to win. We played it during the holiday festivities and it got some of my friends tipsy. teehee :p

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - Tickles - SM North EDSA -1

Now that Tickles opened their latest flagship store in the north, I knew I just needed to check out what novelty items they got this time!
