Chasing Pahiyas Festival | Lucban, Quezon

Saturday, June 17, 2017

Ever since my Philippine Hot Air Balloon experience last February, it became a dream of mine to explore Philippine's festivals nationwide and tick off all of them in my #ChasingFestivals list. ❤️

About a month ago, I was fortunate to squeeze in a day to explore Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon Province. I've never visited the province before which explains the giddy me while touring around this place.

Here are some of my expectations before embarking on a day trip with some blogger friends:

* check out colorful decorated houses around town
* taste the famous Pancit Habhab for the first time
* festive vibe in the streets

Given these expectations, here's what went down on my day trip in Lucban, Quezon for Pahiyas Festival! :)

The Latest Starbucks Stuff to Brighten Your Gloomy Days

The change of season can be quite irking to some because of the change of wardrobe, the extra umbrella baggage, and adjustments to the daily routine. Aside from this, the rainy season means that vacation period is over. HUHU

I wasn't able to hit the beach nor swimming resorts this summer. Bummer! The only good thing about not pursuing any water-related getaways these past months is that my body is not beach-ready. Haha

I guess one of the remaining constants in life is that Starbucks never forget to put a smile on our face even if the rain is already coming. How can we not be giddy despite the gloomy weather when there are new Frappuccino flavors to try, new Starbucks Card to collect, new pastries to taste and new Coffee innovations to explore! ❤️

Talk About the Game Changer in Philippine E-Commerce

Monday, June 5, 2017

Branded as the country’s first ‘real’ online shopping mall, Adobomall sets itself apart as the platform that partners directly with your favorite brands -- when you shop at (app coming really soon!), you’re only dealing with the licensed distributors and merchants in the country.

What does that mean for us? For one, you never have to question the authenticity of the deals you see - finally, no more “is this too good to be true” questions!

Best Sellers Take Over Avon City

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

I used to not appreciate my mom's fondness for direct selling products because of the "brand-conscious" in me. I remember back then, we have these personal care products at home for me. She buys these products from our neighbor mainly because of its affordability. In fairness, after giving it a try, I found out that these products also deliver! My expectations were met. That's the day I stopped being a judgmental brand-conscious person and became more thorough in testing products instead.

Recently, I was invited to Avon Philippines first ever experiential product expo that features their best selling products. Who am I to say no! This invite is as if a gateway to all the products that help make who AVON is today. ;)

As we entered the grounds of Avon City, I immediately noticed the different thematic booths that match the Avon products it features.

Can you believe that women should get out their measurement every 3 - 6 months? Avon stressed that the lady's bust size changes from time to time because of factors like hormonal changes, pregnancy and etc.

10 Must Experience in Korea for First-Time Visitors

Tuesday, May 30, 2017

Traveling to South Korea has been a huge surprise for me because (1) it wasn't on my list of countries to visit and (2) I really want to see Japan before anything else. While I prayed to God to give me the best first-time experience abroad, I didn't expect He'd unearth so many great things to experience right before me in Seoul.

Just to give you a hint of how my trip to Korea went, it was all touristy and gastronomic! I've never gone back to the hotel feeling "bitin" because every minute spent on the streets of Seoul was hella worth it.

Indulge me as I narrow down SOME things
that first-time visitors in Korea have to experience:

Get Schooled on Sun Protection!

Monday, May 29, 2017

This year's summer is one for the books because I get to travel to three different cities despite my daily work. The past two months jumping around Baguio, South Korea, and Quezon province was an adventure I will not forget because the food trip, bonding, sightseeing, and immersion were a huge breather from my busy toxic life.

For a person who likes to wander around, bathing under the sun is usually an issue. But not for me because I make sure to ALWAYS slather my skin with sun protection.

A derma once said to me, "You can forget your moisturizers, but not your sunscreen!" With this, I also make it a point to remind my friends to invest in sunblocks as well.

In case you live under a rock, sunscreen shields the skin from harmful sun rays and prevents the skin from premature aging. May this blog post serve as a little nudge for those of you who don't use sunscreen daily yet. ;)

#TLWandersKorea: What I Ate For 5 Days

Sunday, May 21, 2017

I wasn't a fan of Korean cuisine until I got a chance to try Ye dang in Pasig (Korean BBQ restaurant) a few weeks before I left for Seoul. Since then, I counted the days until my flight to Korea just so I can finally try their authentic food selections.

Seoul introduced me to their wide array of food options, from their local street food, their adaptation of global fast food chains, their Korean BBQs (of course!), to their mouthwatering cafe desserts.

Check out the simple documentation of my 5 day food crawl at South Korea:

Hotel Review: The Linden Suites, Ortigas

Saturday, May 20, 2017

The scorching hot nowadays makes me long for another staycation in the metro. The heat makes me so unproductive at home because a single move already makes me feel icky. Do you feel the same? 😣

This reminds me of another great staycation I've had a couple of weeks ago at The Linden Suites in Ortigas. Located in a prime location (it's a few blocks away from SM Megamall!), the hotel provides a quick escape within the busy streets of Metro Manila.

FINAL Linden Suites - Earth Hour - 2950

I wasn't exactly sure where the hotel is located so I let the Uber driver used Waze to navigate us. Little did I know that we were directed to the back entrance of the hotel, which was also nice because the tall buildings beside Linden Suites provided nice shades in the street.

FINAL COLLAGE Linden Suites - Earth Hour - 2950

The wooden walls and lavish tiles spoke to its year of existence: timeless and grand. The lobby is not as big as the ones in other hotels which is why people easily fill the entire ground floor.

#TLWandersKorea: Flytpack in South Korea Review

Thursday, May 18, 2017

My South Korea trip ended two weeks ago, yet, I long to be back in that beautiful country in the soonest possible time. It became my instant happy place because of all the good memories I've had even in a short span of time. ❤️

I know it took me a long time to write about my first trip abroad. I wish I had written sooner, but I had so many things to settle as soon as I got back in PH! The good thing though is that now, I'm back in writing and I have so many stories to share with you in the coming weeks. Lots of food and itineraries involved. Hooray! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

I'm kicking off the #TLWandersKorea series by writing about my Flytpack WiFi router experience first. Many of you have probably heard Flytpack already because of the number of lifestyle and travel bloggers who shared their great experience with this WiFi router provider during their trips abroad, whether in Asian, Western, or European countries. This is the main reason why I also gave their travel wifi router a try during my 5-day trip to SoKor.

FINAL Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - #TLWandersKorea - Intro Paragraph -1

I cannot help but overthink a few days prior the trip on how I'll survive if ever I get lost in the streets of Seoul (!!!), so on and so forth. That's why as a digitally-obsessed person, the desire to be connected online as soon as I step in Korea is my top priority.

8 Items That Will Make You Wanna Binge Shop at Tickles Stat!

Sunday, May 14, 2017

I'm guilty of flaking out always most of the time whenever there are happenings in the north. Few reasons that can make me say, "Tara, punta tayo ng Quezon City!" are when, (1) there are important events that cannot be missed, (2) go to the meeting place for a travel out of town and (3) a shopping spree at the newly-opened Tickles, SM North EDSA! πŸ˜‰

Back story. Tickles has always been in Alabang Town Center since we moved in the south. The different trinkets in display entice me to stroll around their latest items everytime I pass by to their store.
Just last December, I remember purchasing the Drunken Tower game from them. It's like Jenga but instead of small pieces of wood, the players need to balance the stack of plastic chairs in order to win. We played it during the holiday festivities and it got some of my friends tipsy. teehee :p

Now that Tickles opened their latest flagship store in the north, I knew I just needed to check out what novelty items they got this time!

Gin X Art: GSM Premium supports local art scene

Wednesday, May 3, 2017

GSM Premium Gin brought elevated cocktail experience and the arts together at the recent Art in the Park held at the Jaime Velasquez Park, Salcedo Village in Makati City. Art in the Park is a gathering of a diverse group of artists and art enthusiasts with the mission of making visual arts accessible to everyone.

While art aficionados enjoyed GSM Premium Gin’s handcrafted cocktails, they also contributed in producing a unique art installation wherein returned cocktail cups were recycled and turned into an instant art work that formed a rendition of the iconic Ginebra San Miguel logo of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo. In addition to the art installation, visitors modernized a stencil artwork of the St. Michael the Archangel logo by adding dashes of colors.

“GSM Premium Gin is about elevating taste by making people experience the finer things in life. Our presence here at Art in the Park signifies that our brand appreciates art not just as a form of expression, but as a medium that can be purposeful. Through Art in the Park, we help grow local talent which is just the beginning of the greater things in store for the brand and for the art community,” said GSM Premium Gin Assistant Brand Manager Giselle Villanueva.

The Instagram-worthy GSM Premium Gin Cart was likewise an attraction in itself. Inspired by the 183 years of heritage and history of Ginebra San Miguel, the gin cart is also highlighted by the iconic logo of Amorsolo etched on its wooden finish. The full-service mobile bar offered visitors Ginebra San Miguel Premium Gin in expertly crafted cocktails such as the refreshing Calamansi Surprise, Sweet Lemony Martini and Mango Paradise, plus the classic Gin and Tonic, prepared by Ginebra San Miguel’s world-class mixologists.

GSM Premium Gin is an exquisite blend of botanical extracts and juniper berries, splashed with a tang of delectable citrus and blended with high quality alcohol. GSM Premium Gin is a consistent Gold Quality Label awardee of the Monde Selection International Institute for Quality Selections.

Guide to Starbucks Frappuccino Grand Launch

Sunday, April 9, 2017

Southerners are in for a treat! Starbucks Philippines is now at SM Mall of Asia to bring the latest Frappuccino flavors this summer.

I couldn't be any happier when I found out that this event will happen in the south because I'm only an hour away from MOA. I'm actually the first one to register even if I left the house tad late. (I wish I can always be early in events. πŸ˜‚ )

Kojie San Launches Pre-Sleep Ritual For Sleep-Deprived Women

Saturday, April 1, 2017

My friends know me as someone who SUPER loves to sleep. I don't get to sleep a lot that's why I make it a point to grab some when I can. This speaks for naps in the car, lunch breaks and cinema (sometimes!) πŸ˜…

The results of my sleep-deprived lifestyle? A dull and dry skin that I can't hide with layers of makeup and photo filters.

Saturday, March 25, 2017

It's always been my dream to fly with Philippine Airlines (PAL). Upon hearing some stories of my friend's in flight experiences, no doubt the Asia's longest running airline has always showcased what real service means to their passengers who came from all walks of life.

Because Philippine Airlines is celebrating their 76th anniversary, they've tied up with Globe Telecoms in holding a 3-day expo to bring the PAL experience closer to everyone.

I Just Want a Hair Update (And Beauty Lane Saved the Day! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ )

Monday, March 20, 2017

If you're a girl, I'm definitely sure that you've experienced getting annoyed by your hair because it's all over the place and messed up. I feel ya girl because that's what I've been feeling ever since I resumed work after the holiday break. It gets to a point that I can't fully concentrate in my tasks because I'm irritated by it.

Just by checking the roots of my hair on the photo below, my root retouch is way overdue that my hair color actually looked like ombre already. 🀦🏻‍♀️

To be honest, I don't have any idea on what to hairstyle to sport. I haven't kept up with hair trends either that's why I went to Pinterest (forever trusty!!) instead and spot for possible looks that fits my lifestyle and personality.

Balayage is my go-to choice when it comes to hairstyles. Plus, the streaks of highlights are natural killers once curled up, agree? :)

Another thing, I loved the thought of hiding another tone of color on my hair. Making it appear on certain occasions only.

Lunch at Starbucks? Yes! πŸ˜›

Saturday, March 11, 2017

When I first heard the news that Starbucks is now offering legit lunchies, I knew that I had to go to their nearest branch because STARBUCKS' LASAGNA IS ❤️.

On days when I need to finish my backlogs, I usually always make Starbucks my-kind-of "co-working space". Because of their pastry usuals before, I tend to consume more sweets than normal during my stay. (which is bad you know uyyy)

3 Foolproof Conversation Starters

Thursday, March 2, 2017

Coming from a person who doesn’t party up much, getting attention in a bar automatically weirds me out and in times, heighten my guards more. However, if a person approaches me nicely, I’m pretty sure I’ll be welcoming his thoughts and contribute to a good dialogue.

Wonder how you can start a good exchange to a girl that you spot in a bar? Here ‘s what I think that are good starting lines to get you up and running! ;)

Starbucks Espresso Layer Collection

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

There are times when I feel like I'm not up for my usual Starbucks Iced White Chocolate Mocha on a weekend. Whenever I'm out, I make it a point to get something else because this drink reminds me of work. πŸ˜…  hihi

Do you feel the same? Are you tired of your getting your go-to Starbucks drink? Let the baristas of Starbucks offer unique and sophisticated espresso drinks to quirk up your coffee experience this time! ❤️

On my recent visit at Starbucks at SM Aura branch, I planned to grab the new Espresso Layer Collection drinks launched last February 21. Vince, the branch' assistant manager, was very assisting and got all my orders in a snap. With our small talk in the counter, he found out that I blog about lifestyle and I was at their branch to review the espresso layer collection beverages.

Tahitian Vanilla Macchiato

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - Starbucks - Espresso Layer Collection -3
Short - ₱ 155 / Tall – ₱ 165 / Grande ₱ 180 / Venti– ₱ 195

The velvety milk with Tahitian vanilla bean sauce drizzled on top already got me drooling for this coffee! It's subtle sweetness and natural coffee taste will definitely hook coffee enthusiasts like me to ask for another cup. In case you're wondering what the pepper-like grounds on top are, they are ground vanilla bean pod sprinkles that adds additional texture to the regular macchiato drink.

Valencia Orange Cocoa Cappuccino

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - Starbucks - Espresso Layer Collection -2
Short - ₱ 145 / Tall – ₱ 155 / Grande ₱ 170 / Venti– ₱ 185

It's been the longest time since I last enjoyed a cappuccino, and the experience was extra amazing because I'm drinking the unique-tasting Valencia Orange Cocoa Cappuccino. To be honest, I've judged this espresso quickly because coffee and orange is not my top-of-mind coffee combination flavor.

With one slurp, this drink reminded me of the orange-infused mini chocolate bar I use to love. The hint of the decadent Valencia Orange Mocha Sauce complemented the affogato-style signature espresso shots so smoothly. The tartly-sweet bits of orange peel also added even more flavor as I drink this coffee away.

As I was enjoying my drinks while squeezing in a blog post at the cafe, Vince approached me to give a complimentary Strawberry Torte Cake. I was quick to thank him for the kindness and the great customer service I've been experiencing so far. (Kudos to the Starbucks SM Aura branch!)

Strawberry Torte Cake

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - Starbucks - Espresso Layer Collection -1

This strawberry sponge cake is beautiful on its own! A bite reminded me of the Strawberry Shortcake I devoured at Vizco's in Baguio before (read more here) because of its sweet strawberry mousse taste. The cake is also soft that it melts in your mouth in an instant.

Patty Villegas - The Lifestyle Wanderer - Starbucks - Espresso Layer Collection -4

Both the drinks in the Espresso Layer Collection are also available in iced and blended formats. They will also be available in stores until April 17, 2017 only. :)

Make sure to always visit for the latest Starbucks PH updates! ☕️ ❤️

Meet Maybelline Girl Liza Soberano on Feb 18!

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

If you'll ask me who's the most beautiful young it-girl in showbiz today, my top-of-mind answer will definitely be Liza Soberano! I adore her so much because of her talent and how her personality shines even if she's beautiful beyond words. (Even get to watch one of her movies and teared up!)

With her laid back #FOTD looks (face of the day), she enables Filipinas to be young, bold, fierce and, most of all, confident as they are. I agree that this was made possible with a little help from her favorite Maybelline Clearsmooth All In One Powder Foundation.

Just like how this product helped Liza, this all-in-one foundation is also my best bet to achieving a naturally beautiful look and flawless coverage on a daily basis. It's my go-to powder whenever I need a quick makeup fix (I keep one in my office drawer) because it's super lightweight on the skin! ❤️
