First Impression on the Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipsticks
I ultimately belong to the lazy girls club who stick to one shade of nude lipstick until I finish a whole tube. You will rarely see popping colors on my makeup stash like vibrant pink nor dark shades like plum.
This time around, I guess Maybelline wanted to challenge me by sending the all-new popping shades from the Color Sensational's Vivid Matte Lipstick Collection. Staring at the pink and plum vibrant shades that this lipstick has, I thought to myself that these are not my colors. Yet the adventurer in me spoked and said, "why not give them a try?". That's the reason why this blog post is born. Hihi <3
Just to give you an idea, Color Sensational's Vivid Matte Lipstick collection previously released 4 fun, vibrant shades last summer. This line of lipstick promises long-wear matte formula and I'm excited to see how it will look on me.
PACKAGING
The Vivid Matte lipsticks come in a sealed red translucent casing with grand-looking silver tubes. Underneath the lipstick, you can see the shade, manufacturing date and the name of the line. Like the other Maybelline products, the ingredients of the lipstick are also printed on the seal.
SHADES
For this batch of Vivid Matte lipsticks, they came up with five pink, red, and plum shades that you can wear in a daily basis. Like what I said a while ago, I'm more of the nude shade kind of girl and trying these lipstick colors in a week made me thrilled.
Vivid 13 (Pink)
The Vivid 13 comes in a light pink warm undertone shade similar to the Soft Pink of Rosy Matte line of Maybelline. Wear less and rock this lipstick for a bold pinkish lippie look.
Vivid 6 (Pink)
Opposing Vivid 5, the Vivid 6 is a darker pink shade with blue undertone.
Vivid 8 (Plum)
The Vivid 8 is a wearable light plum shade if you feel like giving a lipstick statement.
Vivid 5 (Red)
The Vivid 5 is a dark red shade that you can rock if you're leaning towards a more classical and sophisticated look.
Vivid 7 (Red)
Lastly, the Vivid 7 is a bright red shade that you can don if you're feeling off the weather. It instantly accentuated the lip with its bright sheer color in orange undertone.
IMPRESSION
Colorwise, the Vivid Matte offers a good range that you can wear depending on the mood that you are in. Let's admit it, we girls love a different vibe whenever we feel confident or moody. The Vivid Matte lipstick instantly shows of its pigmented color in two swipes. For me, I can see myself wearing the dark shades on events and while the light ones at work.
The lipsticks though give off a sheer-matte look. Meaning one worn, it has that slight shimmer on the top of your lips. Also, the lippie transfers to tissue and cups that's why the color lessens midday. However, the lip color remains the same because it leaves a stain even if the lipstick is already gone.
Make sure to moisturize of you feel like donning this lipsticks because they easily accentuate chapped or dry lips.
