Acupuncture 101 with Dr. Philip Tan-Gaute

Friday, October 31, 2014

Ever heard of acupuncture in the Philippines? I guess you might be thinking of those acupuncture scenes in foreign movies. Well, that's the first thing that came into my mind when I found out I'll be dining with a renowned doctor who is known for his expertise in traditional and chinese medicine.

It was a dinner at Village Tavern when I met Doctor Philip Tan-Gaute along with other bloggers.

New Home in the South: Belmere Skin Care Centre Alabang

Truth to be told, I am not really a fan of skin care centers. But, this year, as I get invited to different clinics to try out services, my thoughts began to change and now I am the one promoting them freely because of the good services that they offer.

I am now twenty years old. And yes, I've realized that as early as now, I have to invest on skin care so my future me will thank myself for taking care of my skin. Do you feel the same?

I'm so happy because last September 25, 2014, the newest branch of Belmere Skin Care Centre was launched at Alabang!

Felt like Anastasia Steele at Nailfinity's Trendy Nail Salon and Spa

Thursday, October 30, 2014

I know what you're thinking when you first saw my title. FIFTY SHADES OF GREY.

Oh yes, I'm a huge fan of Fifty Shades. I actually get to read the 3 books in weeks time. I fell in love with how love in their situation worked out. But, i'm not giving you a book report on this post. I just wanna use the feeling of how Christian Grey wanted to make Ana Steele be the flawless girl that she can be to describe my latest nail and waxing salon discovery!

As we all know, Christian wanted Ana to be hairless and pampered. Since the guy's filthy rich, he had Ana visit a certain nail and waxing salon. Upon my visit at Nailfinity Nail and Waxing Salon at Taft Avenue (infront of De La Salle University-Manila), I was reminded of this part and this place became my total pampering haven.

Actually, I've been visiting this salon for quite some months already. But I guess, this is the perfect time to blog about this wonderful place since I'm here with fellow bloggers to unveil what's in store for us. :)

#DiscoverOmbre with Azta Urban Salon + Giveaway worth 3500 php++

Monday, October 27, 2014

Changing something on my crowning glory (may it be through hair color, hair style or treatment) is something that I always wanna do. I easily feel bored with my hair after weeks time which makes me do something about it to feel good about myself.

The last change that I did with my hair was when I had it permed last December 2013. Yes, the perm is still there. But the busy student in me can't maintain it monthly that's why it looks horrid now. You can click here to check out the best product to use if you are planning to have your hair nano permed.

Paradise of the Northeast

Thursday, October 23, 2014

If you've bumped into my blog just recently, you may have missed my feature about Cagayan Valley.  A province located on the northeast of the Philippines where you can appreciate the beauty of our country. Are you a nature lover? Then include this on your Travel list!

I visited the wonderful province this time last year. And I have to say, I had many first time experiences when I was here with my classmates. There are just many things to do! From hiking, snorkling, to food tripping, you can experience them all in here!

This video is in line with our projects with One Cagayan/One Philippines. On my previous posts, you can see how great the project is. This project simply aims to help the tourism of the Philippines in a non-traditional way.

Watch the video above for a quick preview of what Cagayan Valley has in store.

If you wanna take a further read on my experiences, you can go on the following links below.

A Decade of Sticking Needles and More

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

I've always been intrigued with acupuncture. I'm happy that I am introduced to the best practitioner here in the Philippines.

Dr. Philip Nino Tan-Gatue recently celebrated his 10th year of being one of the leading experts in Traditional and Chinese medicine. Having studied in China to learn all about the nitty gritty of acupuncture, Doc Phillip as he is fondly called, remains candid in answering questions thrown at him about acupuncture. He is able to relate acupuncture in a more modern manner than his contemporaries making it easier for people who have a fear of needles to understand and comprehend how it can be of benefit to them.

Dr. Philip Nino Tan-Gatue studied in the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and gained a lot of experience in the Xuanwu Municipal Hospital and in the First Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has also attended and gained a lot of insightful knowledge through the lectures given by Andrew Wu, L.Ac, Giovanni Maciocia, and other experts in the field.

Currently, Doc Philip maintains a private practice while teaching in his alma mater and in the University of the East. He also appears frequently on radio and television to talk about Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. He is a faculty member at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, practicing at the Philippine General Hospital and others.  He is also currently section head of Acupuncture Services at the Center for Wellness and Aesthetics at the Medical City.

Happy 10th Anniversary Doc Phillip!

The Best Nail, Waxing and Spray Tan Salon Yet

Sunday, October 12, 2014

There are different nail and waxing salons here and there offering all the same services that are really tempting to try out. Instead of going to a regular salon, girls can opt to visit specialty salons since they have staff that are knowledgeable in the services that they offer.

Awesome! I got invited to try out one of Pink Parlour's trademark service--Brazilian Wax.

Holistic Weight Management by Zen Institute Medical Spa Review

I was always curious to try out services on a medical spa. Ever since, I've always believed in holistic wellness. That beauty has to be holistic--both inside and out. At a young age, I was very lucky to be knowledgeable about this kind of stuff already, that's why you should be, too!

The Zen Institute, known for being the first and the true medical spa in the country, introduces a new weight management service in line with their concept of holistic wellness--Colonics and IV Micro Nutrition.

Sweep Till you Drop

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

When I ask guys what is the first thing that comes to their mind when they hear the word "Girl", they automatically answer shopping. It's like a universal truth that girls and shopping go together.

Every time I shop, I have this pet peeve of looking for my wallet at the bedrock layer of my bag. I don't like the feeling of the cashier looking at me with that how-long-will-it-take-for-you-to-get-your-wallet look.

I felt giddy when I heard about Sweep Card. It's a reloadable cash card that eliminates the need for us to bring cash on hand.
